Midwifery Care
Out-of-hospital midwives are experts in uninterrupted physiological birth.
Midwives provide holistic, relationship-centered healthcare
during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
My goal is not just to provide a safe and positive experience for the people I work with, but also for people to be heard in the kind of care that resonates with their culture and personhood.

Prenatal Care & Postpartum Care
with Connie Lambeth, LM, CPM, M.Ed.
$2500
This can be a great option for someone who wants to have a hospital birth, but desires the holistic experience of out-of-hospital midwifery care. Connie provides the standard schedule of prenatal care, including standard labs and ultrasound orders, but with longer appointments and truly individualized care.
We complete and compile your prenatal record, call the hospital of your choice when you’re in labor, fax over all of your records, and resume your postpartum care once you’re discharged. Connie does not have hospital privileges, but will work collaboratively with your hospital based care provider who does. Once you are back home, Connie jumps back in to provide postpartum midwifery care, newborn care, and lactation support.
This includes all prenatal appointments in my home office in Monona, starting at any point in pregnancy. Followed by 1 in home postpartum visit and 1 in-office postpartum visit. Additionally, you would be able to reach me via email and phone in between appointments.

"Results:
The main theme explored, ‘The home-based postnatal care model facilitated a smooth succession into motherhood (parenthood)’, is explained by the themes: 1) Mothers (postpartum people) felt ‘not left adrift’ when cared for by the home-based postnatal midwives; 2) Professional midwives with authority guided the way into motherhood (parenthood); and 3) The home, a safe and secure space for new mothers (postpartum people).
Conclusions:
Mothers (postpartum people) valued the well-structured home-based postnatal midwifery care. Important for mothers (postpartum people) was to receive health checks, adequate information, and that midwives have a kind and individual approach to the families. Midwives play an important role for mothers (postpartum people) in the early days after the birth of their baby."
